My Deepest Condolences

In The Name Of Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful

I once entered her room with my friend, Azwa. It was back during our study week when we were in 1st year. Azwa wanted to ask for re-seat test since she was unable to sit for the test conducted due to her health problem. Therefore, we are hoping that she could at least tolerates and create a new question. The teacher smiled and then said no excuses for those who were not sitting for her test. Yes, it was Azwa's fault for not telling her earlier that she sick and forgot about the test.

As for me, I asked her some tips for my final exam as Constitutional Law was my worst subject amongst all. Plus, my carry mark was a so-so, I didn't have that confidence and skills in answering the question paper. I read a lot. I tried out past years questions. At the end, I lost! Too much facts to remember. Too many cases to memorize.

She asked me, "Apa yang kamu target untuk paper saya?" I was clueless. To tell the truth or otherwise. I have looked into her eyes, deeply. "Saya tak pasti. Carry mark saya biasa-biasa je. Maybe B kot Dr." She smiled succinctly. "Kita kalau nak belajar kena aim yang tinggi-tinggi. Bukan aim sekadar nak lulus je. Kalau macam tu lebih baik tak payah jawab final exam kalau carry mark dah tinggi, dah lepas tahap lulus." "Ingat pesan saya ni,

She was right. Most of us learn not for knowledge, but only to pass the examination. Since then I always keep her word in my mind.

However the early of this sem we were shocked by the news that her ill. We never knew that she was suffering from stage-4 liver cancer. And yesterday, she had passed away. Of course the news was a hit for us, the whole member of faculty. Some of my friends were there to give their last respect to her. I felt a lil bit aggrieved as I was unable to attend her funeral.

You've showed me that study knows no limits and knowledge meets no borders. Thank you Dr for all your knowledge and wise words. Semoga rohmu dicucuri rahmat. Al-Fatihah.

"Life is eternal, and love is immortal and death is only a boundary line, and a boundary line is nothing, just the limit of our sight"
